Sean Strickland has released footage of his 60-mile-per-hour crash, and it’s unsettling.
During the late hours of September 21, Strickland and a few of his friends went off-road riding in the desert outside of Las Vegas, Nevada. The UFC veteran was sitting in the passenger seat of an ATV, with his friend Chris Cornell driving. They were traveling roughly 60 mph across a dirt track when Cornell lost control of the vehicle, causing it to flip and roll around six times, with the pair sustaining minor injuries.
Sean Strickland shared a short video to reveal what had happened. In the video, you can see Strickland sporting a few cuts and bruises, and covered in dirt from the accident. But his friend, Cornell, was in a much worse state. Strickland announced that Cornell had been taken to hospital and should make a full recovery.
But Strickland released a short clip of what happened before, during, and after the crash. You can see the moments leading up to the eventual incident, as well as how they and others around them acted amid the chaos.
If the crash wasn’t bad enough, Chris Cornell passed out due to shock and hit the ground with some force. Fellow UFC fighter Anthony Hernandez was also at the scene.

Despite Cornell passing out and hitting his head on the ground, and Strickland enduring some injuries, the crash could have ended much worse for the pair.
In typical Sean Strickland fashion, he returned to the gym and sparred just a day after the incident. Not dwelling on the crash that caused his head to collide with the ground, he will now look ahead to defending his UFC middleweight title. An appearance late this year or early next seems the most likely for the champion.
