July 6 (UPI) — A cricket match in Newcastle, England, was called off when an escaped bull wandered onto the field and charged at players.
The bull entered the pitch on Saturday at Burnopfield Cricket Club during a game against Hetton Lyons Cricket Club.
Video shared by Hetton Lyons Cricket Club shows the bull charging at players and an umpire.
The bull, which had escaped from a nearby farm, evaded attempts to clear it from the grass. The animal’s owner brought a cow to the scene in an attempt to calm the agitated animal, but it was not enticed.
The match ended up being called off when the bull refused to budge.
Durham Constabulary confirmed the bull wad eventually returned to its enclosure.
