Cavan Sullivan produces a record-breaking MLS moment
Many USMNT fans had already pinned their hopes of reaching the latter stages of the 2030 World Cup on Cavan Sullivan.
The 16-year-old is the most talented soccer player to emerge from the United States since Christian Pulisic a decade ago.
He scored an excellent goal with his left foot against Montreal this weekend, improving his tally to four for the season.
Sullivan has now broken Freddy Adu’s record for the most goal contributions by a 16-year-old in an MLS campaign (11).
The young midfielder has become one of the Philadelphia Union’s top players in their pursuit of a play-off place.
Sullivan has also increased his profile with some entertaining celebrations, such as mimicking LeBron James’ iconic chalk toss.
After scoring against Montreal, he emptied a small bag of chalk into his hands and threw it into the air as LeBron does before games.
