War: You will pay, ask US, Israel – Iranian security chief threatens Ukraine over attack

The head of the Iranian parliament’s National Security Commission, Ebrahim Azizi, has issued a warning to Ukraine following its assault on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, which resulted in the death of one sailor and injuries to another on Saturday.

Iran summoned Ukraine’s diplomats on Sunday in response to the bombing of the Iranian vessel by Kyiv, which led to at least one sailor’s death and another’s injuries.

Ukraine stated that its objective in the attack was to target Russian ships carrying military supplies associated with Iran.

Al Jazeera reports that the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, claimed that Russia is providing support to Iran in its military endeavours in the Middle East.

Currently, Iran is facing a U.S. naval blockade that is significantly impacting the country’s maritime trade.

Azizi has now cautioned Ukraine regarding its attack on the Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea.

In a statement on X, Azizi declared that Iran would not allow the incident to go without a response, emphasising that “Any attack on Iran always comes with a cost.”

“Any attack on Iran always comes with a cost, and that remains true today; the U.S. and Israel are well aware of this.

“Ukraine, too, may soon come to realize that Iran does not overlook such actions.

“The list of those who have miscalculated continues to grow.”
