Vote for the Journal Sentinel Play of the Week, Week of Oct. 12-17

What was the best play in Milwaukee-area high school sports last week? You tell us.

This past week featured three excellent plays from Week 9 action of high school football around the area and you can decide by voting for the best one from now until noon Saturday, Oct. 24, as many times as you’d like.

We have a submission tool on our Preps Plus portion of the Journal Sentinel website. The location to upload your clips is under the top banner that’s labeled “Upload Your Video“. It’s a four-step process that will allow you to upload clips from the week across all fall sports. The clips must be trimmed and uploaded to be 30 seconds or shorter in the proper formatting to be eligible for selection. Please submit your clips by the end of the day on Mondays each week to make sure your clip is potentially included to be a nominee.

If you have any questions about submitting a play of the week nominee, contact Michael Whitlow via email at mwhitlow@gannett.com.

Pewaukee’s defense forced three turnovers in its 31-7 victory over New Berlin West to clinch an outright Parkland Conference title in its return to the conference after a couple seasons away in the Classic 8 Conference. Pirates sophomore defensive back Boden Behrens had two of those turnovers with a pair of interceptions for a Pewaukee defense that held New Berlin West under a double-digit scoring output for the first time all season this past Friday.

For the first time since 1980, the Racine Case Eagles are an outright conference football champion after their 42-0 shutout of Kenosha Indian Trail. Case junior Zadari Simpson was a massive piece to the Eagles clinching an outright Southeast Conference title with a forced fumble, a lengthy punt return that set up the Case offense deep in Indian Trail territory, and a wild interception that set up Case’s third touchdown drive in a 21-point second quarter.
