“Didn’t Know C-Tier Players Would Qualify for WNBA Finals MVP”: Angel Reese Fans Poke Fun at Candace Parker Over Latest Endorsement Amid Dream Star’s Red-Hot Run

Candace Parker had to eat her words this season about Angel Reese’s impact. The former WNBA player has been an Indiana Fever fan, considering she hosts her YouTube show with Aliyah Boston. Though Parker had not been very impressed with Reese’s last few seasons, the Atlanta Dream star has exceeded expectations this season. And fans on social media won’t let the three-time WNBA champion forget that.

While ranking players in 2025, Parker kept Reese among Tier-C players. And now, when the player-turned-analyst was asked who could win the 2026 WNBA Finals MVP, her answer included the center.

Reese’s fans didn’t miss the chance to highlight her earlier remarks, though she recently admitted she was wrong about Reese. One wrote:

The Dream and the Golden State Valkyries are tied 1-1 after two games, as Reese led the team to a 79-65 win in Game 2. She scored 30 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, along with one steal and two blocks.

The team now heads back to Atlanta for Game 3 on home court. The finals series has seen defensive power play from both sides.

The Valkyries contained the Dream well in Game 1 and managed to edge them out 68-64. Reese could score just 14 points in the first half and was completely silent in the second. However, she came prepared for the next game.

“I let my team down last game, not really contributing as much as I could in the second half. I just wanted to make sure I came out tonight and left my mark. And I think I did that.”

Allisha Gray is still feeling the impact of her finger injury and hasn’t shown the same impact in the first two games. Reese will have to take the challenge and propel the team to the other side. Given her Game 2 performance, she seems to be ready for it.
