He explained that the intervention went beyond the physical renovation of the laboratory, noting that improved facilities could help bridge the gap between classroom instruction and hands-on learning.
According to him, the upgraded laboratory would provide students with a better-equipped environment to develop practical skills and deepen their understanding of chemistry and other science-related disciplines.
The company described the project as an investment in the future of education and the development of young Nigerians, stressing the importance of supporting critical learning infrastructure.
By improving the laboratory environment, Vitafoam said it was contributing to efforts to strengthen science education and equip students with the knowledge and practical competencies required for their future academic and professional pursuits.
The Vice-Chancellor of LASUED, Professor Bidemi Lafiaji-Okuneye, expressed appreciation to Vitafoam for the intervention and urged students and other users of the facility to take proper care of the upgraded laboratory.
She also called on other corporate organisations to support the university, noting the need for continued investment in academic infrastructure.
The Vice-Chancellor said partnerships between educational institutions and organisations in the private sector could contribute significantly to improving teaching and learning facilities.
The handover ceremony was attended by the Commercial Director of Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, Dahiru Gambo, and a lecturer on sabbatical at LASUED, Professor Olatoun Okunnuga.
The renovation is expected to provide students in the relevant department with improved facilities for practical lessons and scientific experimentation while supporting the university’s efforts to strengthen science education and practical skills development.
