Vikings Not Well Represented on CBS Sports Top 100 Players List

We’re in the home stretch of the NFL’s offseason, and that means we have just one question for you.

WHATCHA GONNA DO. . .WHEN LIST-A-MANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU?!

Yes, it’s listing and ranking time around the football media landscape as we get closer to the start of the season, and over at CBS Sports, they’ve put together their list of the top 100 players in the league heading into the 2026 season.

One member of the Minnesota Vikings finds himself in the top ten, and as you’ve probably guessed, that player is wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Even after a down year statistically in 2025, Jefferson still commands plenty of respect, as he comes in at on the CBS Sports list.

He was hurt by poor quarterback play last year, but he remains the most talented receiver in the game. He had 84 catches and only two touchdowns last season. Kyler Murray should help his numbers this year.

The only wide receiver who comes in higher than Jefferson on the list is his former LSU teammate, Ja’Marr Chase, who checks in at .

The next member of the Vikings on the list is. . .non-existent.

That’s right. Jefferson is the only member of the Vikings who makes the list of the top 100 players in the National Football League heading into this season, according to this particular outlet.

That’s a number that puts them behind all of their NFC North brethren. The Detroit Lions. . .who, let’s remind everyone, finished behind the Vikings in the NFC North last season and managed to lose the Vikings with both J.J. McCarthyandMax Brosmer at quarterback. . .have six players on this list. The Chicago Bears have three players listed, and the Green Bay Packers have two.

I can understand why the Vikings only have one player on the list, honestly. The offense struggled mightily for most of the season, and nobody put up a lot of big numbers. Even Jefferson didn’t get to the 1,000-yard receiving mark until the final game of the regular season. On the defensive side, while the unit as a whole was quite good, nobody put up eye-popping numbers in terms of sacks or interceptions or anything like that.

So, while there aren’t a whole lot of Vikings players to be found on this year’s version of the CBS Sports Top 100 players list, I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch to think that next year’s version should have significantly more purple on it.
