USC countdown to kickoff: Recalling Trojans OL Jarrett Kingston

Countdown to kickoff is back! USC will kick off its 2026 football season on August 29 when the Trojans host San Jose State at the Coliseum. In this series, we will be counting down the days until the season opener by highlighting a notable Trojan who wore each number.

With 52 days to go, today we look at former USC offensive lineman Jarrett Kingston.

Career highlights: After spending five years at Washington State, Kingston transferred to USC for his sixth and final year of college eligibility in 2023. He appeared in 12 of the Trojans‘ 13 games in his lone season on campus, making 11 starts. He played both right tackle and right guard for USC.

After USC: The San Francisco 49ers selected Kingston in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, he was waived by San Francisco prior to the start of the regular season and claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers the following day. Kingston appeared in seven games for Carolina as a rookie.

After being waived by the Panthers and signed to their practice squad last summer, Kingston was claimed by the Houston Texans in September. He appeared in two games for Houston last year, and is now back with the team for another season in 2026.
