Updated injury report for FSU vs SMU, several changes for Seminoles

The FSU Seminoles will play the SMU Mustangs on Monday night in the ACC opener for both teams, and each team released its updated availability report on Sunday night.

FSU will be without linebacker Blake Nichelson, wide receiver Devin Carter, and defensive backs Karson Hobbs, Chuck Kennon, and Jordan Crutchfield. While the other four were already listed as out, Nichelson was not listed on the first two injury reports.

Defensive lineman Darryll Desir, wide receiver Tae’Shaun Gelsey, safety K.J. Kirkland, and tight end Gavin Markey are all doubtful. According to the ACC, a player who is doubtful has a 25% chance of playing. Desir was previously listed as questionable, while the other three were all doubtful in Saturday’s update.

Cornerback Quindarrius Jones, safety Ashlynd Barker, running backs Zay Parks and Amari Thomas, offensive lineman Bradyn Welch-Joiner, and defensive lineman Kevin Wynn are all probable. According to the ACC, a player who is probable has a 75% chance of playing.

SMU has also changed the status of several of their players, with safeties Ahmaad Moses and Jaden Miller-Jones, linebacker Caden Marshall, cornerback Deuce Gilbert, running backs EJ Kelly, Christia Rhodes, and Link Rhodes, linebacker Kenneth Goodwin III, and offensive lineman Abel Hoopii all out.

Wide receiver Daylon Singleton is questionable. According to the ACC, a player who is questionable has a 50% chance of playing.

The game between FSU and SMU is set to start at 7:30 p.m. ET in Doak Campbell Stadium. The game will air on ESPN. It is the first time they have ever played in Tallahassee, with SMU leading the series rivalry 1-0.
