UNIKASHERE student found dead in Gombe stagnant water body

University authorities were subsequently notified, and a coursemate formally identified the deceased student.

Police Investigation Underway

The Gombe State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that an official report was logged on Wednesday at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Speaking on the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed that officers evacuated the victim to the General Hospital, Kashere, where medical personnel officially certified him dead.

DSP Abdullahi noted that while no visible signs of physical violence were observed on the body during initial examination, police detectives have launched a full investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Maisamari’s death.

University management and student bodies have expressed shock over the tragic loss.
