Wednesday’s action will conclude matchday 4 of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League. We have predictions for every matchup, including matches featuring Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Champions League Wednesday Predictions

Real Madrid at AEK Athens

AEK Athens lack defensive muster, and Real Madrid’s mojo under Jose Mourinho feels back after the win in El Clasico, an emotional result away in Barcelona. Athens are without the experienced Joao Mario, and possibly Thomas Strakosha in goal. Real Madrid will have Vinicius Junior available because this match is in Europe, Federico Valverde is also making his way back. There’s little doubt Real Madrid has a deeper, high quality side, the question is can Athens make this complicated.

Prediction: Real Madrid 3-1

Liverpool at Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce are in terrible form, both in Turkiye and in Europe. Dirk Kuyt has taken the reins, and he’s a manager well known to the Liverpool faithful, having starred at Anfield during his playing career. Dominik Szoboszlai will return to Istanbul for this one, while Ryan Gravenberch is still out. Fenerbahce returns an important piece with Mason Greenwood. Still, with Fener in freefall, the opportunity for Liverpool is real, as they look to shake off the poor offensive showing against Arsenal on the weekend.

Prediction: Liverpool 3-1

Real Betis at Borussia Dortmund

Two of Europe’s most surprising teams so far, Dortmund comes off a tough draw against Bayern Munich on the weekend, Real Betis are on track in both Europe and in La Liga, their lineup punching well above its weight. Betis are without Cucho Hernandez, Junior Firpo, and Alvaro Fidalgo though, and those absences matter in a competitive match, where Dortmund know how to battle at home and grind out results.

Prediction: Dortmund 2-1

Napoli at FC Porto

Porto are great in Portugal but have been poor in Europe so far. Napoli have major squad issues with Mathias Olivera and Giovanni Di Lorenzo out in the backline. Kevin de Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund also may miss out. Porto should find this is a Napoli side at a good moment to beat them, and the opportunity at home won’t be wasted.

Prediction: Porto 2-1

Club Brugge at PSV Eindhoven

Brugge have six points in Europe thus far and Nicolo Tresoldi looks like an elite striker this season. PSV have shown their ability to run through lower tier Dutch opponents and won 7-0 last time out. In Europe, they play a tighter brand of football, but at home they should force a result.

Prediction: 2-2 Draw

Manchester City at RB Leipzig

Manchester City lost to Brighton on the weekend, but that poor result may not extend to Europe. Antoine Semenyo is gone for Manchester City, but Leipzig have been poor in Europe and concede a lot of goals. Leipzig have their own intriguing firepower but the Premier League should continue to show how much it’s advanced beyond the teams on the continent.

Prediction: Manchester City 3-1

Como at RC Lens

Como are on track to qualify for the later stages of the Champions League, the team led by Nico Paz is a real contender. RC Lens miss Odsonne Edouard, but Florian Thauvin has always been who their attack flows through. Como are the traveling side, but they are the better side and can survive this test.

Prediction: 2-2 Draw

Arsenal at Slavia Praha

Arsenal lead the Premier League again, it’s not always a thrilling brand of football, but it’s tough and relentless. Slavia Praha look heavily outmatched, they don’t win in Europe, and they are without Tomas Chory. Arsenal still misses Bukayo Saka, but they have plenty of talent to prevail.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0

Sabah at Viking

Viking lost a tough match against Bodo/Glimt in their last outing, but at home in Stavanger they should have an edge over Sabah. Sabah can put up brave efforts at home, but Viking should be on track to get a maiden Champions League win in this one.

Prediction: Viking 1-0
