The Giallorossi head into the clash unbeaten in Serie A this season, while the Red Devils are in deep crisis: Michael Carrick’s side have gone nine consecutive games without a win and need to respond in front of their home fans. It is a big opportunity for Roma, who dream of winning at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time, having lost all four previous visits, some in spectacular fashion.

🚑 Gollini ruled out, D’Amico: “We have faith in Vasquez”

Roma face a goalkeeping emergency just hours before their Champions League clash with Manchester United. Speaking to Sky Sport, sporting director Tony D’Amico explained the absence of Pierluigi Gollini, who was sidelined by severe back pain that developed in the morning. Roma’s staff tried until the last moment to get the goalkeeper fit, but were unsuccessful.

Devis Vasquez therefore steps in to guard Roma’s goal on the prestigious stage of Old Trafford. D’Amico reiterated the club’s full confidence in the Colombian, stressing that he is one of the four goalkeepers in the squad. “It’s an opportunity for him,” said the sporting director.
