It’s Day 1 of the 2026 Solheim Cup. It’s also September 11 ― the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington D.C.
Ahead of the first day of competition in the Netherlands between the U.S. and Europe, Angela Stanford, the American captain, spoke to her players on team bus.

On the course, world No. 1 Nelly Korda was seen with a circular pin on her hat with the red, white and blue colors and a “25” on it.

In the U.S., there were several memorials around the country honoring the victims of that day.
