Ty Dillon improved from last on the starting grid to 28th Sunday at Kansas Speedway. Dillon began 36th after the field was set through NASCAR’s performance metric following the cancellation of qualifying.
The No. 10 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet avoided the major incidents and steadily picked up positions as the race developed. Dillon completed 266 of the 267 laps and finished one circuit behind Kyle Larson.
His eight-position improvement earned nine points. Dillon is not competing in the Chase, so the result has no bearing on the championship standings beyond his overall season point total. While 28th was still well outside the top 20, moving forward from the final starting position represented a measurable gain for the No. 10 team.
