Travis Hunter finally delivered the dual-threat performance he insisted he could achieve in the NFL.
Hunter left college determined to keep playing both sides of the ball. After his rookie season, head coach Liam Coen committed to having Hunter play mostly defense, with sporadic snaps on offense.
On Sunday against the Houston Texans, the dual-threat player etched his name into the history books with an interception and a receiving touchdown.
Hunter caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Trevor Lawrence early in the fourth quarter.

On the next drive, Hunter picked off Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud.

The Jaguars WR/CB combo became only the third player in Super Bowl history to do so. Before Hunter, the most recent was Brian Dawkins, also ironically against the Texans. The only other player in the Super Bowl era to have an interception and receiving touchdown in the same game was Roy Green in 1981 for the then-St. Louis Cardinals.
Hunter played in seven games as a rookie. He finished with 298 yards and a touchdown on offense and 15 tackles on defense. Hunter played 67% of offensive snaps and 36% of defensive snaps.
This year, those snap counts have almost flipped. Through five games, heading into Sunday’s game against Houston, Hunter had played 79% of defensive snaps and just 7% of offensive snaps.
