Transfer: Neville names two players as worst Manchester United signings since Ferguson era

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has named two players as the club’s worst signings since the Sir Alex Ferguson era.

Recall that Ferguson left Man United 13 years ago, and the Premier League club has made a lot of transfer deals since then.

However, when asked who had been Man United’s worst signing in the 13 years since Ferguson’s departure, Neville mentioned Angel Di Maria and Antony.

“Di Maria was a bad one, and I was so excited about him, by the way, but he just didn’t adapt, didn’t settle,” Neville told The Athletic.

“I would say Antony and Di Maria. I’d have to say Antony. This is not a criticism of the boy; it’s reflective of United that they paid that money for him after panicking.”

Di Maria joined Man United from Real Madrid in 2014, while Antony joined the Red Devils from Ajax in 2022.
