Tennessee added transfer defensive back Monty Hunt on Tuesday, according to Pete Nakos of On3. He was in the NCAA transfer portal since January and gained a fifth year of eligibility.
“I will be entering my name in the transfer portal seeking my JUCO year back,” Hunt announced on Jan. 2. “Thank you Tennessee Tech.”
The 6-foot, 175-pound defensive back played at Tennessee Tech from 2024-25. He recorded 10 tackles and four pass break-ups in 12 games.
Hunt played at Palomar College before Tennessee Tech. He appeared in 19 games from 2022-23 and totaled 33 tackles, two tackles for a loss, one fumble recovery, one interception and eight pass break-ups.
Hunt is from Eagle’s Landing High School in McDonough, Georgia.
