Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing the Monaco striker Folarin Balogun during the summer transfer window.

According to Football Insider, they have already registered their interest in signing the 25-year-old striker after an impressive World Cup campaign. Balogun scored three goals in four World Cup matches for the co-hosts and helped them reach the round of 16 in the tournament.

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Tottenham, as we’ve mentioned previously, are looking to bolster their attacking reinforcements and bring more players in.

“Balogun could be one who could be available and relatively cheap, because he’s only got two years left on his contract, so I don’t think Monaco would be demanding too big a fee for the USA striker.

“He’s not the only forward on Tottenham’s radar. I don’t think there’s anything too imminent on a possible move for him as well. He’s just one of those players that’s on the radar for Tottenham, there’s nothing advanced on it.”

He had a very impressive campaign with Monaco as well, and he scored 19 goals in all competitions for them last season. Tottenham are looking to add more depth to the attacking unit, and Balogun could prove to be an excellent acquisition. The former Arsenal player will add goals and physicality in the final third.

He joined Monaco for a fee of £25 million in 2023, and the French outfit will look to make a profit on him. However, he has just two years left on his current contract with them, and they are unlikely to demand an exorbitant amount of money. The player could be available for a reasonable fee this summer.

The opportunity to move to England will be exciting for Bagon as well. He’s at the peak of his career, and he will look to prove himself in the Premier League. He will feel that he has unfinished business in English football.

Tottenham need someone who can compete with Dominic Solanke for the starting spot. Solanke has not been able to find the back of the net regularly, and more competition for places would be ideal.

The 25-year-old United States international could share the goalscoring burden with the Tottenham striker and the north London club going forward.
