According to Sport, several of the Premier League’s biggest clubs are closely monitoring the situation of Jules Kounde at Barcelona amid concerns over his reduced role under Hansi Flick.
Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are all believed to be keeping tabs on the French defender as he struggles for regular playing time at the start of the season.
Kounde remains highly regarded in England due to his versatility and experience. The 27-year-old is capable of playing both at right-back and in central defence, making him an attractive option for clubs looking to strengthen multiple positions.
Chelsea and Arsenal are said to be particularly interested, with both clubs having tracked the defender previously. Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are also watching developments closely in case Barcelona’s stance changes in the coming months.
Despite the growing speculation, no formal offers have been made as of yet and there are currently no active negotiations. Barcelona also remain under no pressure to sell after Kounde recently signed a contract extension running until 2030.
Kounde apparently still wants to succeed at Barcelona, but his long-term future could depend on whether he is able to reclaim a more influential role in Flick’s plans.
