Top NFL insider reveals that KC Chiefs 'reached out' to All-Pro WR

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs were among the teams that reached out to veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs before his signing with the Washington Commanders on August 5.

Diggs — who rose to prominence as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, and New England Patriots — was among the top free agents available as teams around the NFL began their training camps in July.

Schefter revealed Kansas City’s interest in Diggs during an August 6 appearance on the Pat McAfee Show. A video of his comments was shared to Twitter by McAfee’s official account:

“The Chiefs, Dolphins, and the Raiders all reached out to Stefon Diggs..

It was Washington all along for him and it made too much sense” ~ @AdamSchefter#PMSLivehttps://t.co/cUpkkw6tZupic.twitter.com/Kj5unVzwNu

A seasoned veteran, Diggs has been a Pro Bowl selection four times in his career and earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2020 after leading the NFL in receptions and receiving yards.

While the Chiefs missed their chance to sign Diggs, fans should expect Kansas City’s front office to continue monitoring the free agent market as the team prepares for its first preseason exhibition against the Los Angeles Rams on August 15.
