Tom Hardy’s Harry da Souza will be facing a huge new challenge in MobLand season 3.

Ahead of the sophomore outing’s debut in September, Paramount+ officially renewed MobLand for season 3, extending the intense saga of the Harrigan crime family. Created by Ronan Bennett with Jez Butterworth serving as showrunner, the hit series is executive produced and directed by Guy Ritchie, who is confirmed to return for the third installment. While MobLand season 2 still has four episodes remaining with the finale set for November 20, the series’ executives are already teasing new story twists for season 3.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter on Paramount’s UK upfront event in London on Thursday night, 101 Studios executive David Glasser revealed what’s to come for Tom Hardy’s MobLand character Harry da Souza in season 3. According to the executive producer, “Someone will challenge Tom Hardy,” teasing a mysterious new rival for the Harrigan crime family “fixer” after the season 2 finale.

Glasser didn’t elaborate with any additional details on the conflict, leaving the context of how Harry will be challenged in season 3 up for speculation. While it could be referring to a new outsider coming to take down the Harrigan family, the challenge could also potentially be in regard to a new figure trying to steal Harry’s role within MobLand‘s criminal world. The season 3 challenger in question will hopefully become more clear in the events of MobLand season 2’s impending finale episode.

While the upcoming outing doesn’t have an exact release window set by Paramount+ quite yet, star Pierce Brosnan confirmed to ScreenRant that MobLand season 3 will begin filming in November 2026. Season 2 started filming in November 2025 before premiering ten months later, so if Paramount+ repeats that release timeline, MobLand season 3 could arrive as early as September 2026.

Before receiving the official green light from Paramount+, MobLand season 3 notably faced some behind-the-scenes struggles regarding the potential exit of star Tom Hardy. In late May, it was reported that Tom Hardy had been fired from MobLand over clashes with series producers following the conclusion of filming for season 2. However, approximately a month later at the end of June, it was confirmed that Tom Hardy would indeed return for MobLand season 3 after the reported disputes had been resolved.

Currently, the confirmed returning cast for MobLand season 3 includes Tom Hardy as Harry da Souza, Helen Mirren as matriarch Maeve Harrigan, and Pierce Brosnan as patriarch Conrad Harrigan. Additional returning and new cast members are expected to be confirmed for the third outing once filming commences next month.

As the sophomore outing passes its midway mark, MobLand season 2 has remained a success with critics and audiences alike. Currently, MobLand season 2’s Rotten Tomatoes score stands at a “Certified Fresh” 90% rating from critics, with a solid 78% positive rating from audience members.
