The Mets evened up the Subway Series on Saturday, walloping the Yankees 12-2 as Gerrit Cole couldn’t keep the visitors from launching balls over the fences. It was the second straight concerning start on that front for Cole, who insists that he’s perfectly healthy but has noticed the issue and believes there’s some ironing out to do mechanically — hopefully he gets that in line quickly, because time is running out before the postseason and Cole is expected to be one of the team’s top three starters in a short series to determine their fate.
