‘There is still a lot more to achieve’ – Isidor signs Sunderland contract extension

Wilson Isidor believes Sunderland still have “a lot more to achieve” after extending his contract with the club to June 2030.

Isidor has made 82 appearances for Sunderland in all competitions so far, having initially joined on loan in August 2024 from Zenit.

He went on to make the move permanent the following February, helping Sunderland to earn promotion to the Premier League.

Isidor has scored 19 goals for Sunderland in total, including 12 in his first season – which included one in the Championship play-off semi-final against Coventry City.

The striker also impressed in his first Premier League campaign, netting six goals from 4.8 expected goals (xG). Only Brian Brobbey netted more last term (seven).

He played a key role in helping Sunderland finish seventh, securing Europa League football on the final day.

“I’m very happy to continue my journey with Sunderland,” he told the club’s website.

“This club has given me some great memories already, and I feel there is still a lot more to achieve here.

“Playing in the Premier League and representing Haiti at the World Cup have been special moments for me, and now I’m focused on continuing to improve, helping the team and giving everything I can for the supporters.”

Isidor represented Haiti at the World Cup, scoring a stunning goal against Morocco in the group stages.

Sunderland began their 2026-27 campaign with a last-gasp defeat to Ipswich Town but will be looking to bounce back against Fulham on Sunday.

They will find out who they will face in the Europa League in the draw on Friday.
