The starting lineups are in as Manchester City face a must-win match against RB Leipzig

Manchester City and RB Leipzig have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s critical UEFA Champions League league phase fixture. Tonight’s match is the fourth match for both teams in their Champions League campaigns. It does loom as a must-win match for Enzo Maresca’s side. A win would give City three wins from their first four matches. A draw or a defeat would mean that City will face a battle to secure a top-eight finish. Manchester City have a tough draw in their final four Champions League league phase matches, so it does feel imperative that they win tonight against an RB Leipzig side who are beginning to come to life.

For Manchester City, only Antoine Semenyo is unavailable due to injury. The Ghana international continues to be sidelined due to a knee injury. He isn’t expected to return until December.

It will be interesting to see what starting lineup Enzo Maresca decides to go with. It would not be a surprise to see Phil Foden and Rayan Cherki start tonight. Enzo Maresca’s side needs to find a consistent goal threat outside of Erling Haaland and you do feel that starting Foden and Cherki would alleviate this issue. If those two start, perhaps Elliot Anderson and Ayyoub Bouaddi will start in midfield to strengthen City’s midfield and give their attack a platform from which to launch.

Here are both team’s starting lineups for tonight’s match.
