The Red Sox go for their 11th road win in a row tonight in Sacramento

The last time the Red Sox lost on the road, the World Cup was still in its group stage, Taylor Swift was still single, and the Venezuela earthquakes hadn’t happened yet. That was back on the afternoon of June 24th when the Sox dropped to a season low 14 games under .500 leaving Colorado, and were inches away from being sellers.

Now, they’re five games over .500 and have not only started the buying the process, but have also already lost Curtis Mead to the IL with a broken wrist. With Mead on the shelf, they’re going to need to keep stacking wins against lesser opponents to improve their increasingly tricky position from a roster standpoint.
