At some point we knew this would happen… the Anti-Preview is back for the Notre Dame football season. This week the Notre Dame Fighting Irish head north to take on the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field for a Shamrock Series matchup.
Let’s do the thing we came to do…
Please remember that the Anti-Preview is no friend of the beer snob, and we would never suggest a particular brew. That’s a bit personal.
The Force (PER TRADITION)
It’s called, “The Force.” There really isn’t much more to be said about its dominance with a name like that. The recipe comes from a friend (and a HUGE closet Notre Dame fan) Michael Felder AKA @InTheBleachers. This is what we do for season openers- we kick it with, “The Force.” Yep- it’s called tradition. Forget uniforms, turf preferences, or even fullbacks- this is what TRADITION really is.
THIS DRINK IS NOT FOR THE WEAK
We like to make ours in a Gatorade cooler, the type with the spout on the bottom so that there’s no dippage, I’m a germaphobe.
- 24 PABST BLUE RIBBON BEERS
- 1 half gallon cheap vodka (Aristocrat will do)
- 1 19 oz Country Time Lemonade POWDER
- *optional is a fifth of everclear (not suitable for freshman)
- *suggested is frozen lemonade or fruit punch concentrate (ice without watering things down)
Pour the case of beer into the cooler, add the vodka, stir in the lemonade powder. We like to put frozen blocks of ice in ziploc bags to keep it cold but strong.
This is America (at least for a little while longer) so you get a choice. Bratwurst or Butter Burgers?
While butter burgers are incredible, I’ve been throwing back brats for as long as I can remember. Want a hot take? Well… 99% of all brats consumed by me are ketchup only. Don’t hate me — you can do you too.
Three other games I’m paying attention to this week are…
Miami @ Stanford
Clemson @ LSU
Louisville VS Ole Miss in Nashville
Obviously I want to get a good look at Miami as there’s possibly a giant game in November between the Irish and the Canes. Clemson and LSU might actually be the most intriguing with all of the Lane Kiffen nonsense — but I also want to see of Clemson is able to crawl back to being one of the best ACC teams this season. Is Ole Miss actually for real this year?
You don’t need to watch/listen to the podcast to get my prediction for this week, here’s the very short version I just can’t see anyway Wisconsin scores double digit points without some insane things happening on the Notre Dame side — which could happen I suppose. This will be more of a coming out (for 2026) party for CJ Carr than Aneyas Williams, and the Irish tear it up through the air.
