Texas A&M’s 2026 freshman class served as a peek into the future, with outfielder Jorian Wilson, infielder Boston Kellner, and third baseman Nico Partida all making immediate impacts throughout the season, and they will be significant pieces to the 2027 roster, paired with several key transfer portal additions, including Clemson transfer catcher Nate Savoie.
Nico Partida continues to stick out as one of college baseball’s rising stars, possessing MLB-level power at the plate, while his versatility as an infielder at third base or shortstop has resulted in plenty of MLB scouts taking notice heading into the 2027 season. This summer, Partida has been putting in the work towards making the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, which came to fruition on Sunday.
Among 14 other SEC stars, the National Team will head to Taiwan for the 2026 World Collegiate Baseball Championship, which begins on July 11, and will serve as Partida’s first appearance on the global stage, representing Texas A&M as the lone Aggie on the roster. While Jorian Wilson deserved to be considered for a spot, it’s no surprise that Partida, who is considered a future round NFL draft selection, was the choice.
During his freshman season, Partida slashed .313/.416/.563 with 55 hits, 12 home runs, and 43 RBI, which was good for third on the team. Halfway through the 2026 season, it was clear that Nico Partida is one of the rising stars not just in the SEC but nationally, and while his hamstring injury kept him sidelined for several games at the end of the regular season.
