Stuttgart issue Nartey update after injury setback on Denmark duty

After recently fighting his way back from injury, Nikolas Nartey has been hit by a fresh setback during the international break.

VfB Stuttgart confirmed on Monday that the 26-year-old missed Denmark’s 1-0 win over Wales on Sunday due to muscular problems, which led to him returning early to his club.

Nartey was not initially included in Denmark’s squad but was called up after Patrick Dorgu suffered an injury.

The versatile Stuttgart midfielder came on in the 80th minute of Denmark’s 4-2 defeat to Portugal on Thursday before picking up the injury.

Nartey has been limited to just 15 minutes of Bundesliga football across two appearances since suffering an injury in Stuttgart’s first game of the 2026/27 season.
