Steve Bruce compares Leeds United star to Declan Rice

Ethan Ampadu has stood out as a key performer for Leeds United as they continue to do well in all competitions, and the midfielder is now being compared to Declan Rice.

Rice is widely regarded as a benchmark for top midfielders in England, having spent much of his career at the highest level. His performances during his time at West Ham convinced Arsenal to spend heavily to make him their most expensive player.

There is little doubt that Ampadu has become one of Leeds’ most important players. His performances have attracted attention, and Steve Bruce believes the midfielder has similarities to Rice.

Bruce highlighted the similarities between the two midfielders while discussing Ampadu’s performances. He said via Inside Futbol:

“He is a sort of a Declan Rice a little bit.

“He’s got that look of a Declan Rice.

“I think he’s 26. I’ve always been intrigued by him to see how far he can go because everything seems to come so naturally to him.

“He is a really, really good athlete. Keeps it simple, passes the ball well.”

Ampadu will now look to maintain his performances as Leeds continue their campaign. With the club aiming to build on their progress across all competitions, his influence could remain important as the season develops.
