Stephan gives latest injury updates on QPR trio ahead of West Ham clash
QPR boss Julien Stephan has provided a positive injury update on Richard Kone and Justin Obikwu, while revealing Rumarn Burrell is expected to remain sidelined for a couple of weeks.
Obikwu has returned to training ahead of Friday’s game against West Ham with Stephan now waiting to see how he responds.
“He was not available in the last two weeks,” Stephan told West London Sport.
“He started training again for the first time today, so let’s see how the situation evolves, but he was not available the last two weeks.”
There was also encouraging news on Kone, who took part in his first full team session after recovering from injury.
“He did his first collective session with us this morning, so it’s really positive,” Stephan told LoftForWords.
“He needs more sessions and a little bit more time to be at 100%, but the positive side is he has restarted collectively with us without pain.”
Burrell, meanwhile, is still expected to miss further time, although Stephan played down the severity of the problem.
“Now it’s a question of probably a couple of weeks,” he said.
“I don’t know exactly. It depends on the ability to recover quickly or not, but it’s not a bad one.”
