Barcelona will look to extend their impressive home record against English opposition when they welcome Aston Villa to the Spotify Camp Nou in the UEFA Champions League.
Hansi Flick’s side needs a victory to strengthen their position in the league phase standings after suffering a defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in their previous European outing.
The visitors arrive with a contrasting record across competitions.
Although Aston Villa have experienced inconsistent results in the Premier League, they have made an excellent start to their Champions League campaign, collecting nine points from their opening three matches.
However, the Catalans can draw confidence from a remarkable historical record against English clubs on home soil.

Statistically, across 38 European fixtures against English teams, Barcelona have recorded 23 victories, 13 draws and just two defeats.
That means they have lost only 5.2% of their home matches against representatives of English football.
The record becomes even more impressive when looking exclusively at Champions League encounters.
At the Camp Nou, Barcelona have registered 13 wins, six draws and only one defeat against English opposition in the competition.
Liverpool the only English club to beat Barcelona at home

The Reds secured a 2-1 victory in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie, handing the Catalans a rare European setback on their own ground.
Since that encounter, Barcelona have avoided defeat in 15 consecutive home European matches against English clubs, recording ten victories and five draws.
Maintaining that sequence for almost two decades is a testament to the consistency of Barcelona’s performances against Premier League opposition.
Unai Emery’s side will arrive in Catalonia with confidence from their perfect start in the Champions League, having collected all nine available points.
Their domestic inconsistency, however, makes their European performances particularly interesting and Barcelona can ride on that to hand them their first European defeat of the season.
