Tottenham have announced the signing of winger Savio from Manchester City.

Savio, who was known as Savinho at City, has signed a long-term contract with Spurs, which is believed to be a five-year deal.

Reports suggest Spurs agreed on an £85m fee with City, an initial £75m with a further £10m available in add-ons, as the north London side extend their record transfer window.

Spurs’ summer spending has now surpassed the £300m mark, including the club-record signing of Sandro Tonali (£100m) from Newcastle United.

Savio was also linked with a move to Spurs in the 2025 summer transfer window, though City reportedly rejected an offer for the Brazilian.

“It’s taken a while but I’m very happy to be here,” the 22-year-old told the club website.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world.

“As soon as I spoke to the head coach I knew I had to come. He told me he wants to help me reach the highest level, and I believe we can do that together, as a team.”

Savio made 84 appearances for City after joining from Troyes ahead of the 2024-25 season, scoring seven goals and providing 13 assists.

Across the previous two campaigns, Savio completed the second-most dribbles among City players (146) and second-most take-on ending carries (196), trailing Jeremy Doku in both categories (300 and 344, respectively).

Savio may not be the last City player to join Spurs this summer, with Omar Marmoush also heavily linked with a move to Roberto De Zerbi’s side before the end of the deadline.

Spurs started their league campaign with a 3-0 loss at Brentford, though will look to build momentum in their EFL Cup clash with Charlton on Wednesday before hosting Newcastle on Saturday.
