South Carolina football without another edge rusher besides Dylan Stewart vs Kentucky

COLUMBIA — South Carolina football is down two edge rushers for its Week 5 game.

South Carolina (2-2, 0-2) hosts Kentucky (3-1, 1-1) on Oct. 3 (4:15 p.m. ET, SEC Network). The Gamecocks were already without star edge rusher Dylan Stewart, who is suspended. Now Kobby Sakyi-Prah is listed as out on the first report from Sept. 30.

Sakyi-Prah has played 15 snaps but hasn’t played since Week 2. This is his first time on the injury report.

Stewart is suspended due to his actions during the loss to Alabama on Sept. 26.

The potential top 10 2027 NFL Draft pick had several incidents during the game, including punching tight end Josh Ford in the helmet for a personal foul penalty.

The edge rusher rotation has mainly been with Anthony Addison, Julian Walker and Caleb Herring. Stewart missed the first two weeks while he was still recovering from his back injury. Addison leads the team with three sacks and Walker has one.

Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy was out for the Gamecocks last week after he suffered an upper body injury vs. Mississippi State. He is questionable.
