South Carolina junior transfer infielder Karley Shelton committed to Tennessee softball on Monday.
“See you soon Rocky Top,” Shelton announced on Instagram.
The 5-foot-5 left-handed batter appeared in 171 games, including 155 starts, for the Gamecocks from 2024-26. She recorded a .314 batting average, 157 hits, 12 home runs, two triples, 39 doubles, two triples, 95 RBIs, 105 runs, 48 walks and 10 stolen bases.
Shelton is from Lexington High School in Lexington, South Carolina. She graduated a year early to enroll at South Carolina.
Shelton entered the NCAA transfer portal on May 24.
“After many conversations with my family I have decided to enter the transfer portal,” Shelton announced. “I want to thank the South Carolina coaching staff and my teammates for the opportunity. Looking forward to the next phase of my collegiate athletic career!”
She is the sister of former Alabama and Florida baseball player Colby Shelton. He was selected by the White Sox in 2025 during the sixth round (No. 166) of the MLB draft.
