Seattle Seahawks provide Bud Clark injury update & it’s terrible news

The Seattle Seahawks had high hopes for second-round safety Bud Clark, after an impressive training camp and start to his offseason program. Unfortunately, Week 2 of the NFL preseason brought any momentum to a screeching halt.

Clark was injured early in Sunday night’s loss to the Tennessee Titans, and was carted off of the field in an aircast.

Following the game, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald met with the media and revealed the full extent of Clark’s injury, which will delay the start of his rookie campaign.

Earlier this month, Macdonald discussed how quickly Clark made a positive impression on the coaching staff and how he attacked the team’s offseason program. Clark was primed for a big role in the Seahawks’ defense after being selected in the second round of the 2026 draft, and he had been quick to adapting to the speed of the league.

“Bud’s one of those rookies that we’re asking a lot of him right now, and I’m impressed with how he’s handling it,” Macdonald said during training camp, according to the team’s official website. “It’s not perfect, but how he goes about his business is what we’re looking for.

“He needs to trust that he is going to come out of the fog and take it from there. It’s important to start building a relationship with those guys and having a feel for the speed of the game with the ones and how we communicate and how we play, and he’s doing a good job.”

It is disappointing to see a promising young player suffer a serious injury during the preseason, but with how Clark attacked his first few months in the league, there is no doubt he will come back stronger and aim to make an immediate impact when he’s on the field.
