Sage delivers mixed Crystal Palace injury news update with trio sidelined

Pierre Sage has confirmed Anan Khalaili and Ismaïla Sarr are available for Crystal Palace’s Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest.

Palace return to action on Sunday following the international break, with Sage providing a mixed injury update ahead of the visit of Forest.

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Dean Henderson both remain out, as well as Takehiro Tomiyasu.

Khalaili picked up an injury while away with Israel but has recovered in time to feature.

“Anan Khalaili is ready to play 90 minutes,” Sage said.

Mateta has also returned to training after being sidelined since the opening-day defeat to Everton, although Sage says this weekend will come too soon for the French forward.

“For Mateta it was his first training with us, but it’s a good step,” he added.

“He was out a long time, but it’s a good sign both for him and also for us.

“He will not be available for the game this weekend, and it’s the same for Dean Henderson and Takehiro Tomiyasu.”

Sage is hopeful all three could return either against Lyon or Brighton later this month.

“But we expect all three of them to come back for Lyon, or Brighton,” he said.

There was further positive news on Sarr, who is now in contention to start after making good progress in training.

“Ismaïla Sarr is now able to start,” Sage said.

“He had his best session for us this week and I hope we can ‘re-find’ the player.”
