Rolly Romero vs Teofimo Lopez: Start time, undercard and how to watch fight this weekend

· · 2 min read

Teofimo Lopez will challenge Rolly Romero for the WBA welterweight title this weekend, in an intriguing clash in Las Vegas.

Lopez, one of the most-controversial personalities in boxing, is a former unified lightweight champion who has also held gold at super-lightweight, but this bout marks the 29-year-old’s debut at welterweight.

It also marks a chance to bounce back from the second loss of his professional career, a one-sided decision defeat by a sublime Shakur Stevenson in January.

Meanwhile, fellow American Romero will enter Saturday’s main event on the back of his biggest win so far: a points victory over Ryan Garcia last May. Like Lopez, the 30-year-old has lost twice as a pro, but he is a three-weight world champion.

Romero vs Lopez will take place on Saturday 22 August at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card will begin at 1am BST on Sunday (5pm PT /7pm CT / 8pm ET on Saturday), with Romero vs Lopez expected at around 4am BST (8pm PT /10pm CT / 11pm ET on Saturday).

The event will stream live on Amazon Prime Video and DAZN, at a cost of £24.99 on each platform. You can purchase the fight on DAZN here, including eight days of DAZN Standard at no additional cost.
