We knew this was going to be the biggest video game in history, but this might literally end up being the biggest video game in history. Yes, we’ve all expected Grand Theft Auto VI to break records in terms of revenue and sales in its initial 24 hours and longer, but we probably should have expected the size to come in, well, other shapes as well. And Rockstar Games has just made us aware of that, in plenty of time thankfully.
Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI will become available to pre-load on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S beginning November 10, 2026, ahead of its highly anticipated launch later this month. The announcement confirms that players will be able to download the game in advance of its release, with the installation requiring up to 212 GB of storage, depending on their console. Now, some of these consoles only have around 800GB of storage, so you may want to say goodbye to Fortnite, Call of Duty or anything else.
PlayStation 5 users will be able to begin pre-loading at midnight on November 10 in their respective local time zones, while Xbox Series X|S players will gain access simultaneously worldwide at 12 a.m. GMT. Code-in-box editions for both consoles are also expected to become available through retailers beginning November 12, giving players another option for securing their copy ahead of launch.
