German coach Dino Toppmöller is set to take over at Ligue 1 club Lens, according to French news reports on Friday.
The reports including from sports newspaper L’Equipe said that Toppmöller is set to sign a two-year contract on Monday at the French league runners-up, who have qualified for the Champions League.
Toppmöller was last in charge at Eintracht Frankfurt from 2023 until January 2026, and is still contracted there until 2028.
The reports said Toppmöller’s way of playing football has convinced Lens officials and made him the frontunner to replace Pierre Sage, who appears set to take over at England’s Crystal Palace.
Toppmöller also speaks fluent French from stints at Belgian side Excelsior and Luxembourg’s Düdelingen.
