A day after Quinten Post signed an offer sheet to join the Memphis Grizzlies, another former member of the Golden State Warriors’ frontcourt is on the move in free agency.
After 10 seasons with the Warriors, Kevon Looney spent his 11th season in association with the New Orleans Pelicans. After one season in New Orleans, Looney is headed back to the West Coast. According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the veteran center is signing a one-year, $3.9 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Last season with the Pelicans, Looney averaged 2.8 points on 41.7% shooting from the field with 5.6 boards and 1.6 assists in 21 games. Looney suffered a sprain in his left knee during the preseason that caused him to miss time for the Pelicans last season.
Looney was drafted by the Warriors in the first round out of UCLA in 2015. Looney went on to win three championships, averaging five points on 57.7% shooting from the field with 5.7 rebounds per game in his time as a Warrior.
Looney will play alongside newly acquired center Walker Kessler in a Lakers offense run by star point guard Luka Doncic.
