Report Card Grades from the Browns' Week 6 win over the Ravens

The Cleveland Browns have once again pulled a rabbit out of their hat with a fourth-quarter drive orchestrated by Deshaun Watson and finished off by Andre Szmyt. The Browns drove down the field and set up a 37-yard field goal that started a new strike for the former Syracuse kicker.

The game was far from good, though, for the Browns, as they managed to have just seven yards in the first quarter and finished with just 237 yards of total offense. The defense bailed them out by stepping up after a rough start to the game that had Derrick Henry running all over Cleveland.

Cleveland got mixed results on both sides of the ball, but a win is a win over another division rival. Here is how we graded everyone on the Browns side of things in our report card.

This may come across as critical given he just led the Browns to a fourth game-winning drive this season in as many games, but the play is still very concerning. Without that fourth quarter, this grade would be much lower, and personally, I cannot curve that grade anymore. He has not played a complete game all season long; he makes questionable throws and decisions with the ball, and it has nearly cost them every single week. His best chance for a complete game will come in Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans, and the Browns have to hope he shows up.

The run game made plays, conversions, and picked up blocks, and played a big role in this win. Jaleel McLaughlin played like a big back at times, and Audric Estime made his presence known at the goal line. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. Did they outperform things given they have been on the team for just a few days and weeks? Yes.

Denzel Boston was kept silent, Harold Fannin Jr. didn’t get to produce much, but they had others step up. KC Concepcion made plays down the stretch, and Jerry Jeudy produced down the stretch and became a reliable target for Watson. His big catch in the fourth quarter helped to set up the game-winning field goal, and it showed that whether he stays in Cleveland or continues to be used in trade talks, he can be productive when given the chance.

The offensive line was hit-and-miss at times, but also overperformed expectations when Watson was forced to hold onto the ball as long as he was. The run game never truly was impactful, but the offensive line was able to push things back when it really came down to it. The group still is finding its groove given how little they have all played together, but penalties were down, and results followed, onward and upward.

This defense looked like it was in for a rough day after the first two carries of the day from Derrick Henry. He had 30 yards at that point and only had 28 yards after those two carries for the rest of the game. On top of that, Tyler Huntley was well contained, and even Zay Flowers was never quite capable of making an impact like he has all season long. This was the best game from the Browns all season long and held one of the best offenses in the NFL to just 10 points and 235 total yards.
