LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards were the duo to watch in the opening games of the NBA, but we won’t see them on the floor together for quite some time now.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have confirmed that Edwards will undergo an arthroscopic procedure on his knee to rectify an injury he picked up recently. Reports have claimed that the 25-year-old will miss around two months of action as a result.
That puts more pressure on Ball to deliver, and his head coach, Chris Finch, has had a chat with him to fill Edwards’ void.
Chris Finch says LaMelo Ball needs to be more aggressive after Anthony Edwards’ injury
Ball and Edwards formed a phenomenal partnership on the floor, and they seemed to be getting along really well off the court too.
That is why the latter’s injury is such a big shame, as it could really hurt the Minnesota Timberwolves’ hopes of fulfilling their potential this season.
All hope is not dead, though. Ball is still a magnificent player, and if he can take it up a notch, he could make a serious difference.
That is exactly what Finch is hoping for, and he has revealed the conversation he had with Ball about being more aggressive without Edwards in the side.
'Really need him to': Chris Finch

He said in a press conference, as per Andrew Dukowitz on X: “LaMelo and I talked yesterday morning, just about trying to get him a little more aggressive.
“He’s been so great in making things go, but I feel at times it may have been at the expense of kind of him being his best self with trying to fit in. And now we really need him to be a bit more of a scorer and a playmaker and do everything.”
Edwards’ absence clearly had an impact on the Timberwolves’ performance, and Ball wasn’t at his usual best either.
However, everyone knows the quality he’s got, and we fully expect him to bounce back and be the man for the Wolves in the upcoming games.
