Real Madrid have an agreement in place to sign €130 million-rated Ivorian forward – Romano

Yan Diomande has become the biggest talking point at Real Madrid lately, with widespread reports suggesting that the Ivorian could become the club’s fifth signing this summer.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Diomande has a personal agreement in place with Real Madrid and is ready to join Los Blancos until 2031.

That was later refuted by Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, who suggested no such agreement existed.

Amid all the confusion, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has stepped in, confirming that there is indeed an agreement between Real Madrid and Diomande.

The Italian journalist believes Real Madrid have won the race for the winger’s signature on a personal level, with the player firmly set on a move to the Bernabeu.

Now, the focus shifts to finalising the agreement with RB Leipzig, and Romano suggests that could happen very soon.

According to the reporter, Real Madrid are moving with great force in this deal, and a resolution is expected imminently.

It is described as a matter of days, and perhaps even just hours, meaning the coming period could prove decisive in getting the transfer over the line.

The reason for the urgency is the threat posed by Paris Saint-Germain, who are refusing to give up without a fight.

Romano notes that PSG were communicating and applying pressure throughout the last day or so, desperately trying to hijack the deal and lure Diomande to the French capital instead.

The Ligue 1 giants had long been considered frontrunners for the winger and are said to be fuming at Real Madrid’s late intervention.

Despite that pressure, however, the player’s preference appears clear, and Real Madrid remain firmly in control of the situation.

With the fee expected to land in the region of €120 to €130 million, Diomande would become the marquee arrival of Real Madrid’s summer.

The 19-year-old enjoyed a sensational debut campaign in the Bundesliga, registering 15 goals and 11 assists, before catching the eye at the World Cup with Ivory Coast.
