Prediction: Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham

Two camps who are still waiting to put a maiden Premier League victory on the board, Nottingham Forest will welcome Tottenham to the City Ground on Saturday afternoon.

With a stacked Premier League schedule pencilled in this weekend, there are plenty of eye-catching betting promotions available.

Verdict: Morgan Gibbs-White over 0.5 shots on target

Nottingham Forest

Starting with the hosts, while there might have been plenty of excitement around the City Ground back in July following Oliver Glasner’s shock appointment, Nottingham Forest have endured a largely frustrating start to proceedings. Suffering late frustration away at Anfield last weekend as they were eventually forced to settle for a thrilling 2-2 stalemate against Liverpool, the former Crystal Palace boss is still waiting to claim a maiden victory since arriving in Nottingham. Opening up the 2026/27 campaign with consecutive defeats against Leeds and also watching their EFL Cup adventure come to an abrupt end, Saturday’s hosts are looking to kickstart Glasner’s tenure. However, storming their way to a sensational 3-0 victory when they last met Tottenham back on March 22nd, they do hold a dominant record against Saturday’s opponents. In fact, they have won all of their last four straight meetings by an aggregate score of 9-1.

Completing a permanent switch from Crystal Palace this week, Colombian international Daniel Munoz looks set to make his Nottingham Forest debut on Saturday afternoon. Likewise, arriving from Chelsea in a reported £50million deal, Liam Delap could be handed the chance to lead the line.

However, missing out away at Liverpool last weekend with a reported calf issue, Glasner’s side are once again sweating over the fitness of Ibrahim Sangare. Opening his Premier League account at Anfield last week, attacking talisman Morgan Gibbs-White will lead Forest out at the City Ground.

Tottenham

As for the visitors, while Tottenham might have avoided an infamous Premier League relegation back in May as they clung to their top-flight status, Spurs once again find themselves at the heart of a public crisis. Opening up the 2026/27 campaign with a 3-0 drumming away at local rivals Brentford on August 22nd, the pressure on Roberto De Zerbi’s shoulders is already starting to mount. Last seen putting in another concerning display as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at home against Newcastle, the former Marseille boss has made his frustrations abundantly clear. Hit with that routine 3-0 drumming when they last travelled to the City Ground for a Premier League showdown back in December 2025, De Zerbi’s downbeat squad have also continued to show some glaring defensive issues on either side of the summer interval.

Both still dealing with respective knee injuries, Tottenham will once again be without the duo of Wilson Odobert and Dutch international Xavi Simons here. While Dejan Kulusevski might have returned to first-team training this week after more than a year on the sidelines, the Swedish attacker is not expected to feature in Nottingham.

However, missing out against Newcastle last weekend with a reported shoulder issue, James Maddison could return to De Zerbi’s squad. Arriving from Liverpool on a free transfer this summer, new recruit Andy Robertson will start at left-back.

Nottingham Forest vs Tottenham Key Factors to Consider

  • Nottingham Forest remarkably won both of their Premier League showdowns against Tottenham last season by a 3-0 scoreline.
  • In fact, Forest have won all of their previous four consecutive Premier League battles against Tottenham by an aggregate score of 9-1.
  • Saturday’s hosts have won three of their last four matchups against Spurs at the City Ground across all competitions.
  • Tottenham’s first three appearances across all competitions since opening up the 2026/27 campaign have produced 11 goals at both ends of the pitch.
  • Forest have recorded just a sole Premier League clean sheet in front of their own supporters since back on February 11th.

Storming their way to a pair of dominant 3-0 victories when they met Tottenham last season, Nottingham Forest will also be excited by a remarkable recent record against Saturday’s guests. Winning each of their previous four consecutive Premier League showdowns against Spurs by an aggregate score of 9-1, Glasner’s new squad will be confident of putting a maiden top-flight win on the board. Likewise, winning three of their last four battles against Tottenham at the City Ground, Spurs could face another stern examination this weekend.
