Pokémon: Flowing Fists Officially Releasing February 2027

Pokémon‘s 30th anniversary has already given fans plenty to celebrate in 2026, but Pokémon TCG fans have arguably been one of the biggest winners this year. September’s 30th Celebration expansion delivered a nostalgic tribute to the franchise’s history, bringing back classic cards, introducing a new Futuristic rare category, and offering 30 different Pikachu cards for collectors to chase. It was a fitting way to celebrate three decades of Pokémon, especially for longtime fans who have watched the TCG evolve over the years.

To add to the festivities before the year ends, Mega Evolution—Delta Reign is arriving on November 6, bringing Mega Rayquaza ex back into the spotlight alongside several other powerful Mega Evolutions. Between that expansion and the continuing rollout of 30th Celebration products, Pokémon collectors have no shortage of exciting releases to look forward to.

Now, another highly anticipated expansion, Flowing Fists, is reportedly arriving in early 2027, promising even more to look forward to as the franchise heads into the new year.

Pokémon TCG fans already have another major release to look forward to in 2027, with Mega Evolution—Flowing Fists reportedly arriving on Friday, February 5, 2027. According to PokéBeach, the upcoming expansion will be the seventh main English-language set in the Mega Evolution series, with pre-release events scheduled for January 23–31. Although The Pokémon Company hasn’t formally announced the English expansion, several exciting details have already surfaced.

The biggest attraction will be Mega Lucario Z ex, a new card that was first previewed during the Pokémon World Championships in August 2026. This version of Lucario draws inspiration from the new Mega Evolutions introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC, making it an especially exciting addition for fans of the Fighting-type Pokémon.

Interestingly, Flowing Fists is also a callback to 2014’s XY—Furious Fists, another popular expansion that featured Mega Lucario. It’s a fitting tribute to the franchise’s history following its recent 30th anniversary celebrations.

The new English expansion will be based on Japan’s upcoming Aura Seeker set, which officially launches on November 27, 2026. That expansion contains 78 cards in its main set, alongside approximately 35 to 40 secret rares, bringing the expected total to around 115 cards. Beyond Mega Lucario Z ex, other revealed Pokémon include Mega Absol Z ex, Mega Garchomp Z ex, and Sigilyph ex.

According to PokéBeach, Flowing Fists will also continue an interesting trend for the Pokémon TCG, with English expansions becoming noticeably similar to their Japanese counterparts. Previous sets like Perfect Order, Chaos Rising, and Pitch Black followed this smaller format, moving away from the larger expansions collectors had become accustomed to.

It’s currently unclear whether this is a permanent strategy or an attempt to address ongoing global TCG shortages by printing more copies of fewer individual cards. Regardless, Flowing Fists is shaping up to be another exciting release for collectors in early 2027, continuing the momentum from Pokémon’s massive anniversary celebrations and giving Lucario fans another highly anticipated chase card.
