Aaron Plessinger is heading to Triumph, inking a two-year agreement to campaign the TF 450-X for 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing in AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross. He takes on an important role in Triumph’s 450 development program for the 2027 SuperMotocross World Championship.
The move ends Plessinger’s five-season run with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. For Triumph, the signing adds a proven race-winner to a program still establishing itself at the sport’s top level, and the stated goal is blunt: fighting for race wins and championships while continuing to develop Triumph’s off-road program.
Plessinger has a history with Jeremy Coker, Triumph Racing America general manager. Coker was an engine technician with the Star Yamaha Racing team when Plessinger won the 2018 250SX West and 250 Motocross titles. Coker said he holds the rider in high regard both on and off the track, and that the chance to work together again is special after the success they shared. Coker added that the team’s aim is simply to “give Aaron everything he needs to get back to his winning ways.”
“Winning championships together with Aaron was honestly some of the most fun and rewarding racing I’ve ever been a part of,” said Coker. “Having the opportunity to work together again is really special for me. I know what Aaron is capable of, I know the determination and personality he brings to a race team.”

Plessinger’s job isn’t limited to race results. Triumph expects him to feed into the ongoing development of the TF 450-X, and the switch is a genuine adjustment – he’s spent the last fives seasons on an established KTM platform and now taking on a bike that is still early in its competitive life. He will need time getting comfortable with the Triumph’s power delivery, chassis, and electronics before he can push it the way he knows the KTM.
“I’ve been watching what the team has been building over the last few years and I really believe in the potential of both the team and the TF 450-X,” said Plessinger.
First up for Plessinger is an appearance at Triumph’s Global Dealer Conference in Thailand, running October 6-9, in front of roughly 1,200 dealers, before heading to Triumph’s Atlanta-area shop to establish his base settings on the TF 450-X. His competitive debut on the Triumph will be at the Paris Supercross in November, followed by an extensive testing and development program ahead of the 2027 season.
