Player Ratings: Deportivo La Coruña 0-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid edged Deportivo La Coruña 1-0, with Brahim Díaz scoring the winner after a remarkable assist from Andriy Lunin. Bernardo Silva was the standout performer in midfield, while several players continued to work their way toward full sharpness.

Andriy Lunin — 7.5: It’s not too often you give a goalkeeper a high rating based on his attacking performance, but here we are. Lunin wasn’t really tested with the three saves he had to make, but produced an incredible assist for Brahim Díaz on the game-winner.

Denzel Dumfries — 5: Still not at his best physical level. Looked a bit clumsy on the ball and with some of his challenges, though he did get into good attacking zones.

Antonio Rüdiger — 5: Clumsy and off the pace. Never really looked comfortable.

Dean Huijsen — 7.5: Covered well for Álvaro Carreras and was solid with his challenges and clearances. Bar a couple of misplaced passes, his vertical distribution was very good.

Álvaro Carreras — 7: A mixed performance defensively, but he was very good on the ball. Made dangerous overloads and consistently handled pressure well.

Bernardo Silva — 8: Real Madrid’s best player. Silky dribbling under pressure, comfortable receiving and progressing the ball in virtually any zone, and outstanding defensive work in midfield. An excellent all-around performance.

Eduardo Camavinga — 7: He’s starting to find his feet. Camavinga still needs to clean up some giveaways that could have cost Real Madrid against a better team, but he was very good on the ball in Deportivo’s half and clever with his dribbling in tight spaces.

Brahim Díaz — 7.5: Took his goal exceptionally well and continues to be a hugely impressive close-control dribbler. His ability to navigate tight spaces remains one of his biggest weapons.

Arda Güler — 7: Registered three key passes in his 45 minutes and roamed around the field as an omnipresent outlet. Continually made himself available between the lines.

Vinícius Jr. — 5: Rusty and quiet. Struggled to consistently get the better of 36-year-old right-back Ximo Navarro and never really imposed himself on the game.

Endrick — 7: No goals or assists, but worked tirelessly. Dribbled well on the right wing with the intention of creating and fought his way into some excellent positions off the ball.

Trent Alexander-Arnold — 7: Produced some beautiful progressive passing and created a big chance in the second half.

Mario Rivas — 7: Solid distribution, and Real Madrid’s backline looked less frantic with him there.

Fede Valverde — 6.5: Played as a No. 10 and was fine — if a little quiet — carrying the ball in transition.

Carlos Espí — 6.5: Quiet, but not bad. Scored a goal that was disallowed for offside and showed some strong hold-up play.

Jorge Cestero — 6.5: Wasn’t particularly influential on the ball, but his presence helped stabilize the team’s defensive balance.
