Highlights! Viral OKTAGON ‘Neanderthal’ smashed by 41-year-old Czech legend, suffers first career loss

Down goes the German “Neanderthal.”

Top European mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion OKTAGON staged a massive stadium event this past weekend (Sat., Sept. 28, 2026), packing nearly 60,000 fans into Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany.

Unfortunately for viral German prospect Frederic Vosgrone, his undefeated record did not survive the evening.

Former OKTAGON Light Heavyweight champion Karlos Vemola handed Vosgrone his first professional loss in the “Featured Fight” of OKTAGON 94, battering the previously unbeaten prospect en route to a second-round technical knockout.

Vemola pressured Vosgrone from the opening bell, defending an early takedown before reversing position and controlling the prospect with ground-and-pound. Vosgrone threatened with several leg-lock attempts, but Vemola escaped each one.

Vosgrone appeared exhausted early in the second round. Vemola slammed him to the canvas, battered him with combinations after they returned to their feet and eventually secured another takedown. From there, the 41-year-old unloaded ground-and-pound until the referee stopped the fight.

Vosgrone (5-1) suffered the first loss of his professional career, snapping his five-fight winning streak in the process.

The German exploded in popularity following his OKTAGON debut, with fans comparing his unusual physique to a combination of Paddy Pimblett and Brock Lesnar. He then enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign with the promotion, winning both of his appearances before injuries kept him sidelined for most of 2026.

Vosgrone remains an intriguing prospect, but his first major test exposed serious questions about his conditioning and ability to handle sustained pressure from an experienced opponent.

His hype train has not completely derailed, but it certainly hit its first major obstacle.

Vemola, meanwhile, is now riding a two-fight winning streak since losing his Light Heavyweight title to Will Fleury. At 41 years old, “The Terminator” remains an absolute nightmare for developing fighters who are not prepared for his relentless pressure and suffocating top game.

Vosgrone may eventually level up because of this loss.

For one night, however, the old man showed the viral prospect that he still has plenty to learn.
