Pete Crow-Armstrong named National League Player of the Week

· · 1 min read

The Cubs didn’t do very well last week, going 2-4 against the A’s and Giants.

It sure wasn’t Pete Crow-Armstrong’s fault. Over the six games PCA batted .440/.481/.920 (11-for-25) with four home runs and two stolen bases. Yes, he had perhaps the goofiest defensive play of his career when he lost a fly ball Thursday night, but he made up for that with the walk-off hit in that game.

For his performance last week, PCA was named National League Player of the Week today. It’s the first such award for PCA and the second for a Cub this year. Nico Hoerner was NL Player of the Week for the week ending April 19.

PCA hit well all week, but let’s not forget his terrific defense. Here’s a nice sliding grab he made against the Giants on Saturday [VIDEO].

Congratulations to Pete Crow-Armstrong on this honor. Let’s hope there are many more such awards in his future.
